We are a quarter of the way into the 21st century, and technology is permeating our lives more and more. Some of us have new devices that we are getting used to. Some of us are looking to buy, some of us have bought but have no idea if we have bought more or less than we need. Some of us have older devices that need to be updated for security, and other reasons. Some of us have devices that are new enough, but because of unknown care issues, these devices are not performing the way they did when they were new, and they may be salvageable.
A lot of people give up on trying to understand this new world of tech, because it frustrates them or leaves them embarrassed that they have to ask for help. The truth of the matter is, you’ve lived long enough and have learned so many things in life to this point, that you may be unaware of how many of those skills you already know can be applied to all of this technology. I know, it is never as easy as that, I have heard this all before. Technology is not made for old people. Oops, I said the “O” word.
Technology is for everyone. It is not just for the young. Young people don’t have any money, therefore, they must be making these things for all of us. The key is to first ground your understanding of the tech. Choose only what you need and what is useful, learn some of the jargon so you can make intelligent decisions. If you think back to your job, business, and hobbies. In order to be good at any of them you needed to know what each tool was, what it did, and how much of that tool was appropriate for your level of need.
When I got my first iPhone, 15 years ago, Jackie and I were using Blackberry and Android devices. Smart phones were in their infancy. iPhone was just starting to make real waves. We didn’t even start with iPhone. We bought each other iPod Touch for Christmas that year. We quickly grew to love the device. And… then we found out that iPod Touch was basically an iPhone without the Cellular antennae. That was all we needed to hear. We bought iPhone 5s which was the current iPhone at the time and never looked back.
That being said, we both have the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. I will say, that I use my iPhone FOR EVERYTHING. I suck all the possible uses out of it. You would say, it is a phone, what else can it be used for??? Indeed.
On Friday, July 25, I will be launching a YouTube Channel, @paradisegardenstwo, that will contain a growing assortment of video tutorials that will start by answering some basic, and universal, questions. “Why is my computer slow”, “Why might I need a new computer”, “What are some Cyber Security best practices”, and so on. I will check the comments for questions. If you have questions you’d like me to cover, let me know. Most importantly, “Like” and “Subscribe”!!!!
The Teaser Trailer has been posted. Here it is:
